Birthdate: November 14, 1954 in Queens, New York. Graduated Western Maryland College in 1976, B.A. Biology. Graduated Oklahoma Farriers College in 1976. Is a Registered Journeyman Farrier, a member of the American Farriers Association, The Pennsylvania Professional Farriers Association, and is a founding member of The Guild of Professional Farriers.
2005 Sport Pilot PPC, CFI, AGI: Baron was the first pilot to receive the Sport Pilot Certificate, with a powered parachute rating from an FAA Designated Examiner. He is the first pilot to fly a PowerChute from coast-to-coast in one continuous journey.
Baron “discovered” the sport of powerchuting in 2002, and considers it one of the world’s best kept secrets. He’s made it his “mission” to expose the sport to a large worldwide audience, utilizing the media’s love affair with record setting and spectacle type events to achieve this goal.
He has set up the PowerChute Education Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, and is developing ELLASS, a charitable activity utilizing powerchutes to assist in Search & Rescue operations.
